John Morrison

Morrison John Angus Sadly, JOHN ANGUS MORRISON (Jnr) of Arnol, Isle of Lewis passed away unexpectedly at the age of 59 years in Fort Dauphin, Madagascar on 20th March 2023 following a brief illness. John Angus is the dearly beloved son of John Angus Morrison (formerly of Luskentyre, Harris) and Christina Anne Morrison (formerly of Barvas, Lewis) from Barrhead, Glasgow. A much-loved brother to Iain, Marlene, David and loving brother-in-law to Ruth, Michael and Tracy and a special Uncle to Alisdair, Logan, Fionn, Rory and Callan. He was a much-loved Cousin, Nephew, and friend to many near and far. It would have been John Angus's wish that he be cremated in Madagascar, a place he loved. His cremation took place on 8th of April in Antananarivo, Madagascar with close friends in attendance. John Angus remains were then repatriated to Scotland on 24th of April 2023. The family have arranged a Thanksgiving Service to commemorate and celebrate his life. This has been arranged for Wednesday 17th of May at 2pm in St Andrews Parish Church, 2 Ralston Road, Barrhead, G78 2RR. The family kindly request no formal attire need be worn. All are warmly invited to attend and thereafter to the Fereneze Golf Club, Fereneze Road, Barrhead for refreshments and to raise a toast to John Angus. The service will be live streamed via St Andrews Parish Church website (barrhead-standrewschurch.org.uk) to view click on the Watch Live tab from main welcome page. A Just Giving Fund in his memory will be set up in future to donate funds to The Community English Centre of Fort-Dauphin and Robin Hood Community Clinic, Centre Medical de Taolagnaro, Madagascar. John Angus volunteered and supported these places especially, and we hope his legacy will provide for those less fortunate as he would have wished. John Angus was a kind, loving, open hearted, humorous, intelligent, creative, humble man and has been described by many as a free spirit. He will be eternally missed, and John Angus’s family would like to thank everyone who has shown such immense support, kindness, and compassion since his passing, which they are forever grateful. “A loving heart is the truest Wisdom”
